When they hit the top of the charts in their heyday in the 90s, S Club 7 had fans following their every move. With hits such as Reach, Don’t Stop Movin’ and S Club Party, no school disco or wedding party was complete without the sounds of Rachel Stevens, Paul Cattermole, Jo O’Meara, Bradley McIntosh, Hannah Spearritt, Jon Lee and Tina Barrett.
But despite selling more than 10 million albums worldwide, since they split in 2003, the journeys the band members have experienced have been less glitzy. While Rachel Stevens has revealed she’s still undergoing therapy, here are some of the issues S Club 7 has been having.

Paul Cattermole’s bankruptcy battle
Appearing on Loose Women in 2018, Paul admitted that after leaving the group he had run out of money and needed to borrow a shirt for the interview.
After being denied shows such as I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! because he wasn’t “famous enough”, Paul sold his Brit Award on eBay, admitting that: “There are bills to pay.
During the interview, the signees also revealed that he had applied for jobs outside of showbiz.
He said: “If I’m okay with Domino’s pizza delivery, then yes, if that’s what it is.
” I tried to [do reality TV], but they didn’t want me for any reason.
Jo O’Meara’s “Complete Breakdown”
She provided lead vocals on most of the S Club tracks, but that didn’t pay off for Jo when the band disbanded.
After appearing on Celebrity Big Brother in 2007, Jo’s reputation plummeted as she was accused of racism and bullying her housemate Shilpa Shetty.
“I lost my career. I lost my house. I lost everything and I’m still trying to rebuild today,” she told The Sun in 2021.
“I had a complete breakdown and it wasn’t a good time for everyone involved. If I could turn back time and change what happened I would, but I can’t.
Hannah Spearritt’s breast implant agony
After receiving breast implants in 2013, Hannah suffered from crippling illness and fatigue.
Although she was happy with the results, in 2018 Hannah told the Mail On Sunday how her health began to decline: “Within six months my hair started falling out in clumps.
“Then I started to sleep more and more – eventually 22 hours a day. I couldn’t move from the bed because my muscles hurt. I lost my balance, I was always freezing cold and my brain fog meant I couldn’t remember anything.
Since having the implants removed in 2016, Hannah has noted that her health has improved dramatically.
Rachel Stevens’ admission to therapy
Speaking to The Sun, Rachel Stevens revealed that despite the group’s success, being at the S Club had taken its toll on her and she was still receiving therapy as a result.

“You just push it down and go on and suck it up. And it costs a little.
“I spent a lot of time trying to learn how to undo that.
“It’s something I have to work on every day. I always talk to a therapist. It really helps,” she said.
