?? We are counting on your support in the economic revival of the territories, through sustainable investments, ?? Castillo told Borrell

Peruvian President Pedro Castillo Terrones told an EU envoy on Tuesday that his administration offered good conditions for responsible investments in the country.

Castillo sent a welcome message via Twitter to European Union envoy Josep Borrell, whom he met today in Lima.

?? Benvingut in Peru, esteemed Josep Borrell. My government has the right conditions for responsible European investments in order to develop the potential of our country. Let us continue to deepen our ties of cooperation for the well-being of our peoples, ?? wrote the president.

Castillo and Foreign Minister Oscar Maúrtua welcomed Borrell to the Presidential Palace to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the areas of social, economic, environmental and inclusive development, among others.

The president also recognized Europe’s solidarity with Peru during the most critical phase of the pandemic. ?? We are counting on your support in the economic revival of the territories, through sustainable investments, ?? he wrote.

Also on Tuesday, Castillo exchanged congratulatory messages with his Chinese colleague President Xi Jinping on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations.

Xi pointed out that China and Peru, although geographically distant, have long-standing friendly exchanges and a solid foundation for bilateral ties.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 50 years ago, the two sides have deepened mutual political trust and expanded practical cooperation as well as people-to-people exchanges, setting a good example of solidarity, cooperation and common development between the China and Latin American countries. Xi said.

The Chinese leader also said that he attached great importance to the development of Sino-Peruvian relations and that the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations should be taken as an opportunity to further strengthen these relations.

Castillo pointed out that Peru and China are two ancient civilizations with several thousand years of history, and pointed out that his country looks forward to high-level exchanges with China in the fields of trade, investment, tourism and digitization.

The two countries are also pro-multilateralism and have fought COVID-19 together as they achieve a post-pandemic economic recovery.
